This month we celebrate World Space Week, the largest public space event on Earth. The UN General Assembly declared 4 to 10 October World Space Week to celebrate each year at the international level the contributions of space science and technology to the betterment of the human condition.
Catching the Moon tells the story of an old lady that every night goes out fishing to catch not fish but (you’ve guessed it) the moon! Why? Because she has a problem that only the moon can resolve.
With few stumbles, the fisherwoman and the moon eventually become friends and balance is restored to the town.
I like this story because it teaches us that nature, even celestial nature, is here to help us. We only need to ask nicely. So I hope you get to go out stargazing this week and marvel at the wondrous creation God has given all of us!
